When I sit around and feel guilty about eating something or try to figure out exactly how many calories I’ve had, or really don’t want to go to the gym but think l will gain a million lbs if I miss one workout, those are all just thoughts. Now, this is a billion times easier said than done, but it’s such a wake up call. If I want my actions to change, it starts with changing my thinking. However, what this book has made me realize is the battle is what I just said, a mindset. I have had this mindset for so many years now, and it’s proving to be really hard to change. I’ve been really struggling with being victorious though. I am really trying to learn moderation and balance, and to truly tap into the joy of life that God wants for me. I am pretty open about my mental struggles with being totally obsessed with eating only healthy food, and NEVER EVER EVER DO I DARE miss a workout. It’s not like reading those self-help books where the people never actually went through it, but they got some fancy degree in College about it, so now they must be experts right? Plus, she has had it pretty rough at times throughout her life, so I feel like I can actually believe her writing. I think she is an incredibly gifted Evangelist, and she really practices what she preaches. Even if you have no mental struggles (I want to be you) this book is really an eye opener.įirst off, I love Joyce Meyer. But, we had to read some pretty boring books in Canada y’all.Īnyways, I actually read this book.
